As a speech-language pathologist, she has been working with children with speech, language and stuttering problems for the past 20 years. She worked at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, providing assessment and treatment to clients aged 2 to 19 years, and directed the Fluency Program, providing individual and group treatment to preschool and school-aged children, and adolescents who stuttered. After moving to BC in 1992, Lisa worked part-time at the Richmond Health Department, providing services to preschool children, and at the University of British Columbia, teaching clinical courses and co-ordinating clinical placements for graduate students in the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences. She established her private practice in 1998, specializing in services to people who stutter of all ages, as well as speech and language services for preschool and early school-age children. Another area of interest is autism and she attends regular seminars and workshops to stay current in this area. At the University of British Columbia, Lisa is a Clinical Assistant Professor and teaches an annual seminar series on the assessment and treatment of stuttering to the graduate students.
